The atmosphere of the Younger household seems to have a lot of tension an jealousy. I think the mom should use as much money as she wants for her new house because it is much needed. Whatever is leftover she should split it evenly between the kids.
The house is way to small and there isn't enough room for everbody. They have to share a bathroom and people are sleeping on the couch. If there is money leftover both kids should get the money evenly because that's a fair choice and wont cause tension in the family

I believe the insurance money should be equally distributed among Mama, Beneatha, and Walter. They all need the money for various reasons including: to move to a new house, to pay for education, and invest in a liquor store.
If the money is equally split between the characters that is not fair to mama. what if that was your money and others were debating on what THEY should with it?
